Partner with UNB

Dr. Kevin Englehart works on a prosthetic arm. His team's research will help give future prosthetics the ability to feel.UNB researchers partner with industry and government. Our objective is to collaborate and contribute to sustainable economic development in New Brunswick and beyond through the development and transfer of technology and knowledge.

The Office of Research Services (ORS) facilitates access to UNB for those who wish to tap into its knowledge base and research capabilities.

Our partnership activities are guided by the ideas that:

  • UNB has a leading role in supporting industry, government, and others, which may lead to sustainable economic development for New Brunswick, Atlantic Canada, and beyond;
  • UNB's skills and facilities are being underutilized in this respect, and greater utilization of these assets would provide intellectual and financial benefits;
  • faculty members have the desire to use their skills to this end; and
  • these activities must be consistent with the teaching and research objectives of UNB.

Our partnership strategy is to:

  • rapidly process requests received from faculty, staff, potential clients, and partners and supply follow up support services;
  • expand the number of faculty participants;
  • identify research funding and collaboration opportunities;
  • maintain open, regular communications with our clients and partners in order to remain abreast of their development strategies and to plan supporting activity accordingly; and
  • develop effective identification of technologies with commercialization potential and expedite their transfer to industry.
